Question: Biology and Environmental Science The best hurricane forecasting models use global data and take hours to run on the world's fastest supercomputers. A random sample of 26 tropical storms or hurricanes that passed within 25 miles of Miami were selected. The European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) and the Global Forecast System (GFS) models were used to predict storm surge (in feet). The summary statistics for the differences (ECMWF - GFS) were d¯ = 1.4923 and sD = 2.8097.

a. Is there any evidence to suggest that the ECMWF model predicts higher storm surges? Assume normality and use a = 0.05.

b. Find bounds on the p value associated with this hypothesis test.
