Question

Policy plays a direct and critical role in shaping APRNs' practice. This is because policy defines their scope of practice, the structure of reimbursement, and educational levels and requirements. One of the examples of the role of policies is the implementation of the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act, which has significantly expanded the scope of practice for nursing practitioners within different jurisdictions (Martsolf et al., 2023). Through this legislation, nursing practitioners have been able to practice independently without needing physical supervision, thus improving their access to care (Martsolf et al., 2023).
