Skaters Ltd, a manufacturer of skateboards, supplies several hundred skateboards to retailers throughout the country in preparation for the Christmas market. It soon becomes apparent that the design of the skateboard is defective. Several children are injured attempting to execute 180-degree turns when the back pair of wheels shear off from their mountings on the skateboard. Despite these problems, Skaters Ltd continues to supply the skateboard to retailers and takes no steps to warn the public.
