1. What are the sorts of ideas she (Louise Bourgeois) is dealing with here: politically, morally, poetically and/or psychologically?
Answer – I imagine she was dealing with a lot as a kid in her life. Morally she was devastated and angry at her father’s infidelity and somehow she was seeking the answer thru her art. A perfect example is her sculpture "Fillette", which in English it translates to little girl. She was trying to understand why men do what they do and how his actions hurt her as a little girl. Poetically she was dealing with being a woman, growing up and finding yourself in a passionate and sexually way. Psychologically she was trying to cope with the trauma her father cause and his acceptance. I think that her message is to other dealing with the same insecurities and traumas as her but at the same time a message to the aggressor; her message is that you need to grow up and deal with your actions and that you need not to forget the pass but grow up and do something amazing with your experiences. I do believe that thru her art she is getting her message across you only need to let yourself go and let her art speak to you.
