Question

Preoperative nursing actions are essential for gearing up patients both physically and mentally for surgery. Nurses carry out detailed assessments-covering medical history, vital signs, and lab tests-to pinpoint possible risks. They make sure informed consent is signed and resolve any patient worries, which lessens anxiety and gets patients emotionally ready. In addition, nurses teach patients about pre-surgery orders, like how long to fast and what medicines to take or stop. Following these orders helps lower the chance of surgical complications. Proper skin cleaning and handling of the surgical area just before the operation lower infection risks in this era of antibiotic resistance ("Nursing Care during the Perioperative within the Surgical Context," 2022). All these steps forge the bedrock of successful surgery, cutting down on stress for the patient and boosting cooperation.
