Fault Analysis
Using the 13-bus power system you have established in Assignment 2, first conduct a power flow and make sure it converges. then (System Base: 100 MVA. For data not given, appropriate values should be assumed. Justification of these values should be provided with appropriate references.)
a) Perform bolted three-phase balanced fault analysis for the slack bus, and the lowest voltage bus, respectively. Using bar graphs to show system voltage profiles of all buses during the fault against the one before the fault. List fault currents as well. Please comment on results.
b) Perform line to line fault analysis for the slack bus, and the lowest voltage bus, respectively. Using bar graphs to show system voltage profiles of all three phases during the fault against the one before the fault. List fault currents as well. Please comment on results.
c) Change all transformer connections to YG-YG. Perform bolted single-line-to-ground, and bolted double-line-to-ground fault analysis for the lowest voltage bus, respectively. Using bar graphs to show system voltage profiles of all three phases against the one before the fault. List fault currents as well. Please comment on results.
d) Change all transformer connections to Δ-Δ. Conduct bolted single-line-to-ground, and bolted double-line-to-ground faults the same as (c). Compare two results and make comments.
e) According to the results obtained from above questions, compare fault currents among different types of faults using a table. What is your conclusion?
