Early on in the course, you will perform a vulnerability assessment of a facility of your choosing, e.g. workplace, home, etc. Upon completion of the assessment, you will complete a 750-word paper, describing your experiences in completing the assessment.

To clarify, this is not a report on the selected facility; rather, it is an examination of your experience in administering the assessment itself.

Topic areas to be covered in this paper include:

A brief summary of what happened. In this part of the reflection paper, the point is to recount the steps you took in preparing for, and then performing, the assessment.

This section should include:
a description of how you prepared for performing the assessment;
any strategies you undertook in completing the assessment;
a description of the method used to identify and contact relevant stakeholders;
a review of how you obtained access to the information called for in the Vulnerability Assessment Checklist.
A description and analysis of the challenges faced during the assessment. In this part of the reflection paper, the point is to investigate and explain any problems you ran into.

This section may include:
descriptions of difficulties in interpreting the Vulnerability Assessment Checklist;
descriptions of, and possible explanation for, any challenges in identifying difficult-to-find details;
descriptions of, and possible explanation for, any difficulties in the identifying and/or consulting with appropriate stakeholders;
descriptions of areas that required you to perform additional research or seek out additional clarification.

Your thoughts on refining the vulnerability assessment process.

In this part of the reflection paper, the point is to describe how you will mitigate the challenges mentioned earlier in future vulnerability assessments. This section may include:
omissions, additions or revision to the Vulnerability Assessment Checklist;
strategies for identifying difficult-to-find facility details
methods for identifying and consulting with appropriate stakeholders;
additional research or clarification to be performed in advance of performing the assessment.

Remember that the purpose of the paper is to gain experience in performing a vulnerability assessment and to identify ways in which you might perform this task differently in the future.
