The use of the ICD-9-CM codes for the classification of diseases has been an important part of coding in the health care industry since the early 1900s. 


When using ICD-9-CM codes, there are four main steps that should be followed to make sure that the code is an accurate description of the diagnosis. Using the Library and other outside references, prepare a research paper that:
