P21425 Sensors and Measurement Systems - University of Portsmouth LoRA WAN, IoT and sensor measurement system
Objectives:
• Analyse the performance of these new measurement systems against smart/intelligent sensors.
• Propose solutions which yield reliable measurement systems in the IoT/LoRA WAN area.
• Assess the needs in terms of measurement from both hardware and software perspectives for an identified application area of your choice.
• Design - in theory - a measurement system (hardware and software) as part of a solution developed for a given problem. This can be done in simulation and/or on suitable hardware available to you.
Report Format
You are required to write a technical paper following the format and specifications of the IEEE.
You are free to choose the subheadings and structure of your paper.
It is critical that you write a unique paper by avoiding copying or sharing too detailed information with your classmates in order to avoid plagiarism issues. You are required to conduct a detailed identification, description and analysis of the impact of the newest developments in measurement systems: IoT using LoRA WAN. Some (but not all) key questions might include:
• What sensors and measurement systems/technologies are being used and how are these exploited by companies and individuals?
• What are the likely technical, economic and environmental impacts of these new developments?
• What are the current and possible future technologies that can improve measurement systems in the long run?
• What are possible implementation issues of future IoT implementations?
