TASK

In this assessment, each student should write an assignment of 2500 words that should include critical analysis of the aspects as given below;

• Evaluate critically the elements of occupational health and safety management systems (OHSMS) as per ISO 18000 series. In addition, identify any needs to control and improve health and safety performance and do so with OHSMS.

• Evaluate the HSE management benefits according to safety performance indicators that identify the conditions prior to accidents and incidents.

• Critically assess the occupational health risks associated with the hazards involved in the site operations.

• Appraise the various appropriate occupational health risk control measures and remedial action in indoor and built environment.

Note: The assignment necessarily has to be written based on an site visit that will be arranged as per schedule.

Guidelines:

1. Follow the format of the marking scheme to write the assignment.

2. The supporting documents should be MS word processed in A-4 paper.

3. Line spacing 1 inch with normal margins on all four sides of word document.

4. Document text should be word processed, typed in A4 paper size in Times New Roman fonts with 12 point while captions should be sentence case.

5. Document headings should be Times New Roman font with 12 point, bold and capitalize.

6. Attending the site visit related to the assignment is mandatory. No part of the assignment will be accepted without the evidence of the site visit.

7. Absence to attend the site visit will result in deduction of 10 marks, and your assignment should also support valid evidence such as pictures/photographs of specific aspects related to your work.

8. The assignment should contain a title page and content page; however they should not be numbered.

9. Harvard style referencing and citations standards should be followed. It is extremely important that students correctly paraphrase all sources, pictures, tables, statistics and direct quotations. Also mention the word count at the end of the report.
