Responding to an alarm, a 93 kilogram fireman slides down a pole to the ground floor, 3.2 meter below. The fireman starts at rest and lands with a speed of 3.4 m/s.

(b) If the landing speed is twice that in part (a), is the average force exerted on the fireman halved?

(c) Obtain the average force exerted on the fireman when the landing speed is 6.8 m/s.
