The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.  And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:15-20

God has made all things, both big and small. It is often easy to focus on the negative impact that microorganisms can have on human health. Yet they play crucial positive roles in God's creation. It has been noted that bacterial flagella are the icon of the intelligent design movement. However, science has shown that flagella are more a creation with an intricate design, not something that occurred by chance. Consider other designs in microbial structures that emphasize what an awesome God we have. Do a brief internet search on positive contributions or designs of microorganisms. Then answer the following:

  • What microorganism did you discover? (Please include website address.)
  • What is its positive role in creation?
  • How do humans benefit from this microorganism?
  • What might happen in the absence of this microorganism?

Please include website and must be at least half page long the more the better,-.
