Learning outcome 1: Plan, configure and troubleshoot OF switches, controllers and SDN networks
Learning outcome 2: Apply and evaluate security challenges in the SDN paradigm
Learning outcome 3: Evaluate the emerging SDN applications
Reports contents
1. Describe the use of Mininet as one of the usefull Software Defined Netowrking (SDN) tools in our own words. Use case example/s would be good to have as a part of the explanation.
2. Discuss with example how routing is done in SDN.
3. Critique any three software define controller in your own words.
4. Create a topology in Mininet which has the following criteria:
a. At least 5 contorllers
b. At least 10 switches
c. At least 15 hosts
The topology can be of your choice. Use Mininet GUI environment Miniedit to create the topology.
5. The following configuration needs to be completed.
a. Create appropriate subnets and assign IP addresses to the interfaces.
b. Create a static routing table for the routers as given in above network.
c. Entries to the routing table can be as: [Des: IP, Next Node/Hope, Network Mask, Interfa ce]
d. Demonstrate the IP forwarding controller by creating logic for level two switches and L evel three routers.
