The Heart Station's role in Exercise 14.8 is to perform a stress test on the patient via treadmill exercise testing or by administering a pharmacologic agent that mimics exercise stress. After the patient enters one of the three stress labs, a nurse practitioner or a physician obtains the patient's medical history, performs a resting EKG, takes blood pressures, and then performs the stress test.
