CASE STUDY

Arianna Tobin is a 41-year-old Biracial female who resides in South Bend Indiana with her fiance' Latwon Smith. Arianna was born to Diane Tobin and Ester Davis. Arianna's parents never married. Arianna was raised in a two-parent household until her mother married her stepfather Everett Owens at the age of nine years old. Arianna's biological father was absent from her life until age 15. Arianna reported when the family moved to California, she and her biological father formed a relationship that continues presently. She described her relationship with her father as well. Arianna reported her mother and stepfather separated when she was 10 due to his ongoing substance usage; crack cocaine. Arianna reported she never witnessed her stepfather using crack or stealing from her mother but her mother would constantly blurt it when they would argue. Arianna reported feeling a void when he left the family's home however the two maintained a relationship until he passed from Covid in 2022. She reported her stepfather treated her like his own. Arianna spent most of her childhood in St. Joseph Michigan. She described her childhood as hard, and her need to seek approval and acceptance outside of her family. Arianna described how being the family's only "brown" girl was rough. She described her mother as narcissistic, she described a child feeling used by her mother to " date black men" Ariana is the youngest child born to her mother. She described her childhood as looking for someone to love her. Additionally, she stated her mother made her feel unwanted. Her two siblings are Caucasian and she is African American and Caucasian. Her two half-siblings are Jeff Tobin (47) and Linda Tobin (44). Arianna stated her brother left home at the age of 16 to never return therefore she does not have a relationship with him. She described her relationship with her sister the two love each other from a distance. Arianna described being bullied in school. She described her childhood as lonely because of her skin. being "brown" she was teased and bullied. Arianna attended Buchan High School and graduated in 1998. Her criminal history included retail fraud in 2020, she is currently paying restuation to the state of California and possession of meth with a intent to sell, she spent 7 months in Sacramento County jail.

Arianna reported being diagnosed in 2014 with a personality disorder. She reported she never took medication because she doesn't believe in taking pills she described that she is goofy and fun.

Arianna reported at 5 years it was reported by her mother that she was sexually molested. Arirnna reported she does not recall being molested. Arianna stated because of her mother' s narcissistic ways she would seldom throw things at her and hit her for no reason.

Arianna described having scoliosis and A diagnosis of ADHD at the age of six years old. Arianna stated London and Liberty are not up to date on their immunizations due to her recent move. None of her children have been seen by a dentist.Her other 3 children are, Legacy is in the 3rd grade has ADHD she attends Harrison Elementary, she struggles in math, Legend is in kindergarten he is reported doing well, her other children are reported to be to young to attend school

Arianna has eight children Mya Tobin (25), Olivia Fortune (22), Justice Dean (20), Legacy Tobin-Stewart (10), Legend-Tobin Sampson (7 ), Loyalty Tobin-Hawkins (6), London Tobin-Smith (1), and Liberty Tobin-Smith 1month old. Mya and Olivia share the same father who is currently incarcerated for sexual abuse with his daughter Oliva. According to Arianna when she was arrested in 2003, Mattew Lurago gained custody of his two daughters and it was reported that he sexually abused his child Oliva from the age of 10-16. Justice 's father Ronald Roseburgh has never been involved with her daughter. Arianna reported also losing Custody of Justice when she was arrested in 2003 for possession of Meth with an intent to sell. Justice spent the remainder of her childhood in foster care until the age of 18. Legacy's father Paul Cook is also absent , and Legend 's father Larry Sampson is absent from his child's life. In addition, Loyalty father Charles Hawkins is absent from her life. According to Arianna the children have never met their father's Arianna commented that she does not believe in abortion. Arianna reported she is engaged to her youngest two children's father Lawton. Arianna does not have a relationship with her oldest child Mya but reports having a close relationship with her other children. Arianna reported she and Oliva reconnected when Oliva turned 18 years old. Arianna admitted to providing her daughter Oliva with alcohol when she was 18 and witnessed her drinking until she was impaired. Arianna reported this was her daughter's one wish before leaving for the Navy.

Arianna reported a ten-year history of using methapthemenine. She first used at the age of 31 and was introduced to meth by a past boyfriend. She reported smoking meth daily 2 to 3 times per day. She reported when she became pregnant with Legacy and Legend and stopped using, however, following the birth of her children she began using again daily 2x 3 times smoking meth. Arianna reported during her last two pregnancies with London and Liberty she smoked meth 2 to 3 times per day. In addition, Arianna has a history of smoking marijuana that began at the age of 14 years old. She reported stopping for a short time at the age of 19 but began smoking marijuana again one year later. Arianna reports she smokes daily her last use was one day ago. She reported smoking two joints per day.

Arianna who appears to be of stated age. She is neatly groomed. She maintains good eye contact. Mood is mildly depressed. Speech is normal in rate, rhythm and volume. Mood and affect are mildly dysthymic. She denies any suicidal or homicidal ideation. She denies any psychotic symptoms. She denies any obsession, compulsion or phobia. She is alert and oriented. Insight and judgment are fair.
