Need help with the Hypothesis and Regression formula;

The consultants at Hayward Management Consulting Group are discussing the factors that explain the cost of maintenance for a fleet of Buses at the Buena School District.

You have data on Cost of Maintenance (Y - Dependent Variable) and Age in Years of a vehicle (X - Independent Variable) and Mileage Driven (M)

Using the data in MS-Excel (Attached)

Calculate the Average Number of miles comparing Diesel and Gasoline Buses and make a chart to compare Diesel and Gasoline and,

Conduct a Test of Hypothesis at 2½ Level of Significance comparing the Average cost of Maintenance of Diesel and Gasoline buses.

Conduct a Test of Hypothesis at 2½ Level of Significance comparing the Average number of Miles driven for Diesel and Gasoline buses.

Use Regression Analysis to identify

the Fixed Charge and

the cost for each additional mile of transportation

What is the Coefficient of Determination?

What is the estimated cost of maintenance for a bus that is driven for:

670 Miles

750 Miles

850 Miles

Using Regression Analysis, test whether the Total Cost of Maintenance is significantly affected by the Total Mileage driven of any bus.
