Question

Powsner et al. (2023) state that the main levels are structured as low, moderate, and high. A low level risk indicates no or infrequent suicidal ideation, no specific plan or intent, few risk factors, and multiple protective factors. The interventions for this level of risk are usually outpatient referral, symptom reduction, and providing emergency/crisis numbers. Moderate level, which indicates frequent suicidal thoughts, but limited intensity or duration, presenting vague or limited plans, no immediate intent, some risk and protective factors. For the moderate level of risk, the interventions may include hospital admission, developing a crisis plan, suicide precautions, and providing emergency/crisis numbers Soreff et al., 2023).
