1. Under what circumstances, if any, might the legalization or decriminalization of drugs be beneficial to society?

a. There are individuals who think that if drugs were legalized then they would not be as harmful to our society. They say this because the way that drugs are illegal right now, those who sell the drugs can charge whatever they want for the drugs. With this being the case, an addict will overlook the truly important things to be paid for (i.e. food, rent, clothes, or any other essential item to basic human needs) and spend as much money as they can in order to get their next high. When they do this, they not only hurting themselves by destroying their bodies, but they are also hurting the ones that they love.
