On the whole, we may say that analytical jurisprudence is attaining the best results in the present, that historical jurisprudence has accomplished most in the immediate past, and that philosophical jurisprudence, which had been most fruitful from Reformation till the nineteenth century (...) shows signs of regaining its usefulness and reacquiring its former importance in the immediate future.
