Trade has also been considered to be an ally to environment if environmental and social costs are internalised and there are more distribution of economic benefits of trade. Recent decades have been punctuated by a shift in focus and an increasingly widespread recognition of the need for the integration of trade and environment.
Critically evaluate the issues, competing concepts and priorities involved in making trade and environment mutually supportive for achieving the objective of sustainable development.
