Karl Marx and Max Weber both had a theory that purported to explain the origins of capitalism. What was Marx’s argument about the origins of capitalism? What was Weber’s? Even though they have different theories, Weber didn’t want to be known as Marx’s “opposite.” Why not? What would be a better way to conceptualize the relationship between these two thinkers?
