- In Part 2 of this task, you will synthesise (clearly outlining, summarising and presenting) your own personal position on your chosen issue
- Your position is your own, however it needs to be developed and be able to be justified through relevant scholarly literature (you will do this in Part 3)
- To develop your position, you need to reflect on how it will impact you and the children, families and communities you will work with as an ECEC teacher in Australia Your position MUST be relevant to you as a teacher in ECEC in Australia
- To synthesise your position, you need to outline and present these impacts in a clear way
- This will require you to think about both how the issue will:
- impact on you (as an ECEC teacher)
- Impact on them (as ECEC stakeholders you will work with)
- how these impacts will influence and frame your approach to teaching (your teaching practices/what you will do as an ECEC teacher in relation to this issue) and learning as a professional teaching in an Australian ECEC service
THE PROCESS OF JUSTIFYING YOUR PERSONAL POSITION IN THIS TASK IS THE SAME AS THE JUSTIFICATION PROCESS IN
TASK 1
- You will need to use relevant, current scholarly literature to justify why your personal position is appropriate, why the approaches you have outlined are relevant, etc.
- This will require you to engage with a broad range of literature on the issue, including the unit readings, the EYLF, the NQS, and other literature sources
- You MUST demonstrate through the literature the validity of what you have stated in your personal position on the issue
- PEEL paragraphs will support you here.
