A 42-year-old is admitted to the hospital unit for an unexplained broken right humorous fracture and of pain in their chest and back for the last 2 weeks. They are complaining of feeling tired all the time. No Appetite. Weight loss of 15 lbs. in the past month. The client also states they have had frequent infections over the last few months. GERD, Hypertension, Obesity The nurse notes that the patient has shortness of breath with activity, pain that they rate in their arms/legs and back that they rate a 5/10. Lungs are clear, +BS, A&Ox4. Client also complains of nausea but is frequently thirsty. Temperature: 99.9 degrees F Heart rate: 92/min, regular rhythm Blood pressure: 148/94 Respiratory rate: 18/min Oxygen saturation: 95% on room air. Chest Xray shows puncture type lesions on the spine and bilateral scapula's. Labs: GFR 54 Hemoglobin 9.8 g/dL Hematocrit 25% Platelets 79,000. Is the patient having leukemia?
