Air (a diatomic ideal gas) at 26.5°C and atmospheric pressure is drawn into a bicycle pump (see figure below) that has a cylinder with an inner diameter of 2.50 cm and length 63.0 cm. The down stroke adiabatically compresses the air, which reaches a measure pressure of 8.00 105 Pa before entering the tire. We wish to investigate the temperature increase of the pump.

Estimate the length of a thundercloud lightning bolt : Thunderclouds typically develop voltage differences of about 1×108 V. Given that an electric field of 3×106 V/m is needed to produce an electrical spark within a volume of air, estimate the length of a thundercloud lightning bolt.
The double slit is replaced by a single slit of width : The double slit is replaced by a single slit of width w = 0.036 mm and is illuminated with an intense light source of wavelength 528 nm, to produce a diffraction pattern on the screen.
Two spherical shells have a common center : Two spherical shells have a common center. A -2.8 10-6 C charge is spread uniformly over the inner shell, which has a radius of 0.050 m. A +5.5 10-6 C charge is spread uniformly over the outer shell, which has a radius of 0.15 m. Discover the magnitu..
Find a linear equation that converts the other test scores : Presume we wish to curve a physics test using a linear function. If we want to scale the scores upwards we may decide to raise the lowest score of 47 to 65 and the highest score of 78 to 90. Find a linear equation that converts the other test scores.
