Question: In Problem the heat is to be supplied from the rear by condensing steam. Let the steam be available at 110°C, and let it be assumed that the overall conductance for heat transfer from the steam to the L surface (including the condensing resistance the wall resistance, and the resistance of the material being dried) is 280 W/(m2 • K). Investigate the influence of the mass-transfer conductance g on the drying rate.

Problem: A wet surface is to be dried by blowing dry air at 32° C over it, while at the same time electrically heating it from the rear with a fixed heat flux of 25,000W/m2 • Investigate the variation of the drying rate m" as the conductible g is varied (presumably by varying the air velocity).
