Task

Generate an original business question based on an industry business problem that can be explored using available data sources and analytics methodologies mastered in the business analytics degree.

Assessment Description

An individual report of 1000 words.
Students are required to investigate the application of one analytics method to an industry and document their findings as a report.

Assessment Instructions

A literature review is the first part of a good project. In 1000 words (excluding references) address the following sections that will assist you to outline a business industry problem that can be addressed through data analytics.

Industry Background:
Choose an Industry, e.g., healthcare, retail, education, finance, recreation, government, etc. and discuss three key business problems currently facing this industry. Get assignment help with expert guidance now.

Existing Analysis and Methodologies:
Investigate and evaluate existing analysis on the three business problems you have chosen and reflect on the data and analytics methodologies employed in this analysis.

Data Sources:
Evaluate the types of data sources available to analysts in this industry. Explore the available data sources you can access to address the three business problems you have identified and evaluate what type of descriptive and predictive analytics techniques could be used.

Selecting Business Problem: Generate a unique business question for this industry based on one of the business problems. You will address this business problem in Assessment 3 (Project Report). For the business problem you select briefly summarise the:
The data source(s) you will use.
Methodologies you will explore (brief).
The originality of your contribution (i.e. Why is your analysis original given existing investigation and analysis in this space?).

Provide at least ten relevant, credible references to support your ideas and explanations.

Requirements

The problem/question should be characterised by:
A difficult problem to resolve that cannot be solved by GenAI, the web or a textbook
In other words, a problem for which there is no obvious solution
Must be multi-faceted in its complexity with multiple components
Needs feedback in class from facilitators and peers rather than individuals working completely on their own
Necessitates the development of the solution - not just its conceptualisation
Involving project management skills (as well as analytics)
If possible, it should be for a real client to whom the solution is presented at the midpoint of the trimester, though a fictional case is acceptable
Students cannot be told specifically what to do in these assessments - they must figure it out for themselves.
