Outline for the Research Paper
Cover page: Please make sure that you have included the WSU Cover Page with the required signatures.
Title page: The title page should have the title of your research and the names of all the group members. The title must be brief. It should convey reasonably well the scope of the research that you have carried out.

Executive summary
Introduction
This section needs to introduce the research paper, outlining the scope, rationale of the research topic, aim, and objectives, research questions, a brief outline of the approach, and the structure of the report.
Literature Review
This section should provide an overview of key concepts and theories related to the topic, presented under relevant subheadings. You need to provide a discussion of the information required and sources, with justification for using sources. Try to organise your literature review in a way that will match the information required to address the research questions you have formulated.
Methodology
In this section, you should provide an outline of the overall approach you have adopted for addressing the research questions. You should include sources of data, methods of data collection, methods of data analysis, ethical considerations (if applicable), and limitations of the methodology. When presenting details of the proposed methodology, use sub-headings as appropriate and relevant.
Analysis, Results and Findings
It is suggested that you present the analysis, results, and findings with respect to each research question. For example, section 4.1 could present the analysis with respect to research question 1, section 4.2 with respect to research question 2 etc.
Please note that you should not repeat in this section the literature review presented in section 2. You can refer to the findings from the literature review, as appropriate, in the different sections 4.1, 4.2 etc.
Discussion
You need to present the discussion in two parts as follows:
5.1 First, critically discuss the key findings of the research in terms of contributions made to theory. Here, you should highlight where your findings align with or diverge from the existing literature.
5.2 Second, based on your findings, discuss the practical value of your research by providing recommendations that have managerial implications. Also, if your findings have national policy-making implications, you can discuss this as well. However, if your findings have no clear national policy-making implications, you can leave this out.
Conclusion
This section should present only a concise summary of what you have accomplished. You could briefly describe the limitations of your research and future work that could be carried out.

Overview
The writing of this research report enables students to understand how cross-functional logistics processes can be adopted in a firm, in particular using an ERP system and how they can leverage the competitiveness through improved performance in logistics operations in manufacturing and service organisations. Through this assessment task, students can also learn how to critique the role and importance of managing integration of materials and information flows within the context of an organisation's overall business strategy. In this assessment, students are required to write a report on one important contemporary topic on logistics processes/process cycles that you think is of contemporary relevance or will have a major impact in the future. Most importantly, you need to demonstrate you have ideas of your own and not just duplicating the views from available materials.
The marks given will depend on the insights or relevant topics that you are going to discuss. Your research paper could be based on an extensive literature search, or the analysis of some latest developments/case studies or the latest research in this area. In this assessment task, learning outcomes of 2-4 will be met.
Details
Write a report on one selected topic associated with logistics processes in ERP that you think will have a major impact in the future. Sample topics would be discussed in the class as a guide for selecting a topic. Your research paper could be based on an extensive literature search, the analysis of some of the latest developments/improvements of/in logistics functional modules of ERP system, relevant case studies, various methods, approaches and strategies across logistics process cycles discussed in the literature, professional circles, or analysis of relevant ERP system-based projects, based on comprehensive theoretical/practical assessment of overall project scope, aims/objectives, methodology, outcomes, practical limitations and implications.
