Assignment: Recruitment Plan Design

Purpose

The success of a recruitment initiative relies heavily on the planning that goes into it. When a strategic and organized approach is used, the likelihood of finding a suitable and qualified applicant pool is significantly increased. The first step is creating an accurate job description that was achieved in the previous assignment. That job description will form the foundation for the rest of the plan.

How to Proceed

Using the job description, you have already created a designed recruitment plan to find a suitable candidate for this role (assuming it will be an external recruitment).

The plan should include the following:

> identify any internal or external factors that may impact the recruitment (i.e. organization policies, labour market conditions, unique skills required, etc.);

> recommendation and justification on advertising medium (i.e. job boards, social media, recruitment agency, referral program, post-secondary institutions, etc.);

> sample advertisement (can be text and/or graphics depending upon medium chosen);

> an approximate timeframe and budget for recruitment; and

> potential interview questions.
