Part 1 - Human Capital Management
The administration of the human talent of your cafeteria is another important factor to reach the commercial and business objectives. In the simulator, you decide how many employees to hire and how much is the compensation to pay them. These decisions affect customer service, employee turnover and the financial results of the cafeteria.
As we know, managers can serve customers, but you have to hire servers to part time to provide good customer service. Especially if the business operation is 16 hours a day (Monday to Friday).
Answer the following questions:
1. How many servers will you need to employ to have one server running at all moment? Remember that the servers work about 10 hours a week.
2. Suppose there are two servers and a manager on staff all day and the store is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Calculate the daily serving capacity if the average waiter can serve 15 cups of coffee in an hour and the manager can serve 4.
a) What factors will improve employee productivity in the business?
b) What could limit the service capacity of your cafeteria?
Part 2 - Training and Development
Proper training and development of the staff that work in your business is important to achieve the objectives outlined during the planning process. That's why it's important Develop activities that promote continuous staff development.
For this part of the task, make a training program that includes the following aspects:
I. Identify several topics that you understand are important for the development of the resource human.
II. Identify the goals you want to achieve with the training.
III. Make a proposal with the resources that will be necessary to carry out the activities (internal, external speaker, etc.)
IV. Determines the modality in which the activity will be carried out (face-to-face, e-training, workshop etc)
V. Include the budget items that you must consider for the development of the exercise.
