Write 1-2 paragraphs that highlight some important features of Augustine's story that an analogical approach helps us see. In other words, talk about how Augustine believes deeply that God was at work in more subtle ways throughout his life, not just in the final dramatic garden scene. (For example, in book 2 Augustine talked about the disappointments he was constantly feeling while he was chasing various forms of pleasure. He concluded in book 2 that those disappointments were actually God's way of inspiring him to look for deeper, more lasting happiness. So look for stuff like this in book 8!)

One final reminder... you don't ultimately have to agree with Augustine that God was trying to draw him in throughout these chapters we read. But our phenomenological approach asks us to at least take him seriously, even if you eventually want to determine that you think Augustine was just crazy.
