Questions:

Suppose you are training a group of caregivers who will be working with children or adolescents who live with a Disruptive, Impulse-Control/Conduct Disorder. Considering the general themes associated with each disorder, thoroughly answer all of the following. You are expected to use content from the unit (or applicable literature) to support your answer:

o Identify 2-3 personal characteristics required by a professional working with this population of children and adolescents, and explain why these characteristics are required.

o In the context of navigating a power struggle with, explain your understanding of the importance of "talking with" versus "talking at" the child or adolescent whom lives with a Disruptive, Impulse-Control/Conduct Disorder. Consider the unit content around emotional contagion to support your answer.

o Identify 2-3 strategies you would use to preserve the mental, emotional and/or physical safety amongst a group of children or adolescents living with a Disruptive, Impulse-Control/Conduct Disorder, and their caregivers (eg. living in a group home, on a field trip, in school, etc,)

o Share your thoughts and beliefs around the importance of advising children or adolescents living with a Disruptive, Impulse-Control/Conduct Disorder that they have innate gifts, talents, strengths and abilities.
