Case: Your training module should illustrate a connection between the Needs Assessment/Organizational Goals/ Course Goals/ and the learning objectives presented in the specific module from the course outline. This is how the training document should start. If you are recording a "live" training session then you will need to illustrate this at the beginning of your presentation. If you are completing a live session, the recording should be no more than 30 minutes MAXIMUM. I anticipate a range of mediums and venues but ALL training should be technologically enhanced and include some level of assessment to measure efficacy. For example, if you elected to illustrate your "mad" tech skills and design a webpage that the trainees will go through like a learning management system, then you should have "assessment stops" at various places before they are able to move on to the next learning objective.
Your training module should be organized in the following manner. As with all assignments, please refer to the rubric before devising your plan.
1. Introduction that includes the rationale based upon needs assessment and organizational goals (first paragraph, page, or slide).
2. A synopsis of the entire course based on the course curriculum that includes course objectives (second paragraph, page, or slide).
3. Introduce the learning objectives for the specific training module (third paragraph, page, or slide).
4. Suggestion: This is a good place (after #3) to reiterate the needs/goals of the organization and how the participants can benefit from the training. Adult learning, as you remember, requires some sort of "buy in."
5. Learning Objective One ( about two pages/slides --you can elect to do a short assessment here to measure efficacy) .
6. Learning Objective Two (about two pages/slides --you can elect to do a short assessment here to measure efficacy).
7. Learning Objective Three (about two pages/slides --you can elect to do a short assessment here to measure efficacy).
8. Summative assessment if you did not assess each individual learning objective.
9. Connections of the three learning objectives back to organizational needs and goals, course objectives, and benefits to the participant. This does not need to be too long but it is good to close the loop in a manner that reiterates the overall meaning and point of the training.
10. Evaluation form.
You will need to include a reference page/slide for your references.
