Question: Choose a chronic (ongoing) problem in your workplace. It might pertain to a department, team, or the entire organization (i.e., turnover, low morale, customer retention problems, increasing rates of stress, anxiety, mental health issues, other). These are the symptoms you see.
Based on all the readings, theories, and concepts learned in the course, identify the underlying causes (related to leadership topics) or factors contributing to the problem. For example, you might identify a problem as low employee engagement and increasing turnover. Some of the factors might include:
A culture of fear driven by authoritarian senior leaders that leads to silence; employees don't share perspectives with leaders
Unclear vision, goals, and strategic direction
The CEO has an inward mindset (i.e., self-absorbed); sees employees as objects that are replaceable. Senior leaders are very difficult to access for conversations or feedback/input.
Supervisors are burned out, unmotivated, and just tell employees what to do (without involving them in decisions).
Other?
Using the theories and concepts (i.e., motivation, ethics/courage, communication, etc.) learned in the course, act as a consultant to your senior leaders and write a 4 to 6-page list of recommendations to address the factors (Q2) contributing to the problem (Q1). You must include in-text citations and refer to content from the text. In addition to the text, you must include 3 scholarly articles that support your recommendations.
APA 7th style is required. Include in-text citations, proper headings (levels), double-space throughout, and check for grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Include a ‘References' page (not Work Cited or Sources).
