During adolescence, teenagers experience several major changes in cognitive and emotional development. These changes are influenced by both biological factors, such as brain development, and environmental factors, such as the influence of peers and parents. Psychologist Diana Baumrind (1991, 1993) carried out a series of longitudinal studies on parent­child and parent­adolescent interactions. She has identified a number of parenting styles that are associated with different kinds of adolescent development. Review the parenting styles associated with Diana Baumrind to answer the following questions for discussion. Please remember to follow APA and to cite your references.
