(What?) This assessment task is a Painting and Painting Workshop Practical carry out work health and safety (WHS) requirements through safe work practices in all on- or offsite construction workplaces.
The assessment requires candidates to demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a Painting and Decorating Workshop by completing a practical project under realistic workplace conditions. Candidates will follow structured work plans, safety procedures, and teamwork principles to assemble a Painting project. The task involves measuring, cutting, assembling, finishing, and quality checking while collaborating with team members. Assessors will evaluate technical skills, communication, problem-solving, and compliance with WHS requirements. Candidates must submit documentation and evidence of task completion.

For role-play activities, play the role as specified by your assessor demonstrating foundation skills and knowledge application while being observed by your assessor.

10 Evidence Requirements

(Skills and Knowledge Application)
Our Painting and Decorating Workshop is a dedicated space for Painting-related activities that is equipped with a variety of hand, power, and pneumatic tools, as well as specialized Painting equipment such as saws, drills, sanders, and planers. It is typically a large open space with workbenches, storage facilities, and racks for tools and materials. Our Painting and Decorating Workshop is used for a variety of activities, including cutting, shaping, joining, and finishing wood and other materials to create various structures and objects, such as furniture, Painting, and building components. Safety is a top priority in our Painting and Decorating Workshop, and workers (Trainees) must follow strict guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
This workshop task includes role-play tasks where you are required to interact and communicate with simulated workplace supervisor (Assessor) This task is more than application of theory and it is a hands-on task for you to demonstrate application of skills and knowledge of what you have learned from training in a real workplace or simulated workplace environment.
This practical workshop task is designed to bridge theory with hands-on experience, emphasising the application of skills and knowledge acquired through training. Set within a simulated workplace, this task uses role-play scenarios where candidates interact with a simulated workplace supervisor (Assessor) to navigate through real-world challenges. Detailed in the appendix are essential resources, including policies, procedures, and other relevant documents, to guide you through this immersive learning experience. Through this workshop, you'll engage directly with practical work environment documents, applying what you've learned in a setting that mirrors actual workplace conditions. Prepare to demonstrate your proficiency in Painting work through active participation and skilful execution.

Scenario:
You are working on an active construction site responsible for ensuring compliance with WHS policies and procedures. Your tasks involve identifying and reporting hazards, planning and preparing for work safely, applying safe work practices, and responding to emergency situations.
Your assessor will observe your performance as you complete the following tasks while following all WHS requirements and workplace procedures.
Assessment Activities
1. Identify and Assess Risks
Instructions:
Conduct a site walk-through and identify at least three hazards in your work area.
Record the identified hazards in a Hazard Identification Report (form provided).
Assess and report these hazards to the designated personnel (your assessor or supervisor).

2. Identify Hazardous Materials and Other Hazards on Site
