• Per the text, when databases are developed, they are modeled around business rules, so they accurately support a business function or operation.

o Based on your experiences, identify one example of a business function / operation. Explain the business function / operation in the context of business data models.

o Identify the business rules associated with your selected business function / operation. Explain the manner in which such business rules would impact the design of a database.

o Explain at least one way in which the business function or operation would be affected if these business rules were not adhered to in the development of the database.

Correctly written business rules are used to define entities, attributes, relationships, and constraints. Employees find these rules easier to follow because this is how they get paid. For added security, it had to be able to deny access for employees without a clearance.

Functions of operations to track your working hours or accessing your e-mail:

Where I work at we use our fingerprint to clock in and out, this is how our times are calculated for the week. We also use it to get into the building or certain rooms. If you are not authorized to be in a room, your fingerprint will not work. For our e-mail or any documents that we need we use password and username. If you are not allowed to view certain documents, the site will be blocked.
