Use Bergey's Manual to identify species of the bacterium for which you have obtained the results: In the wet mount slide, bacteria displayed Brownian movement. Cells were spherical, about 1 mm in diameter, organized into clusters or regular groups of four. They stained purple with gram-stain, did not produce endospores, and formed bubbles when added to a drop of hydrogen peroxide. Their colonies grown on blood agar were surrounded by completely clear zones, and they formed 1-2 mm round colonies on mannitol salt agar which turned yellow.
