Below are 4 articles/stories regarding legalization of marijuana. The first article explains the conflict in laws and the other 3 discuss conflicts that have arisen in different areas because of the states' choice to "legalize" marijuana.

Do you think the federal government should amend the Controlled Substance Act to eliminate these conflicts? Why or why not?

Should the legalizing state be required to cover costs incurred by neighboring "nonlegalized" states?

We know that marijuana can be detected days and even weeks after use, depending on the period of time used and amount and strength of drug used. Should employers allow people to work at occupations while testing positive for marijuana? What about drive?

There are no FDA approved/acknowledged studies that clearly identify marijuana as a treatment for a disease or symptom. With that knowledge, and the knowledge that insurance doesn't cover you for illegal acts, how would you advise a doctor living in a state that had legalized medical marijuana?
