Article Review Assignment
Article Review is summarization, classification, analysis, critiques, and comparison. The analysis, evaluation, and comparison require use theories, ideas, and research, relevant to the subject area of the article.
After writing your Article Review, combine your review with the ideas/concepts presented from the textbook. Make sure to provide at least three pages (750 to 1,000 words) using APA style. You must also include a reference page at the end of your summary. Do not limit yourself only to the material from the textbook. You may want to include references from the Internet, or additional library research, etc. However, you must (at least) include detail from our textbook.
Apply real-world content to your review. You may want to highlight current events, etc., to show the relevance in today's economic environment.
HOW TO WRITE AN ARTICLE REVIEW
Understand what an article review is. When writing an article review, you will summarize the main ideas, arguments, positions, and findings, and then critique the article's contributions to the field and overall effectiveness.Article reviews present more than just an opinion. An article review only responds to the author's research. It does not provide any new research. An article review both summarizes and evaluates the article.
Think about the organization of the review article. Summarize the article. Focus on the important points, claims, and information.
Discuss the positive aspects of the article. Identify contradictions, gaps, and inconsistencies in the text. Determine if there is enough data or research included to support the author's claims. Find any unanswered questions left in the article.
Put the article into your own words. Focus on the argument, research, and claims the article makes. Make sure to include all the important points. It is pivotal that you are accurate.Create a list of strengths and weaknesses. Show how the article supports its claims. Make sure to include the article's conclusions.
Write your critique. Express your opinion about whether the article was a clear, thorough, and useful explanation of the subject. This is the core of your article review. Evaluate the main points and arguments in the article. Decide if the author's points help her argument. Identify any biases. Decide if you agree with the writer, then provide sufficient support as to why or why not.[21] End by suggesting which audiences would benefit from reading the article.
Conclude the article review. In a paragraph, summarize the main points of the article, as well as your opinions about its significance, accuracy, and clarity. If relevant, also comment on implications for further research or discussion in the field.
