Overview

You will complete a science article review designed to acquaint yourself with teacher-oriented literature in science education. An article review is a short paper focused on critical reading and analysis of one peer-reviewed scholarly article.

Instructions

For this assignment, choose a peer-reviewed journal article related to assessment in science education. The journal article you select should be dated within the last five years. If you need help finding a peer-reviewed journal article, see the Finding Peer-Reviewed & Scholarly Articles tutorial provided with this assignment.

After thoroughly reading the article you selected, prepare a 2-3-page paper that includes an introduction, summary, and a reflection. The introduction should be at least three sentences long and should contain the name of the article, with an in-text citation. State the article's topic and main ideas in your own words.

For the summary and reflection portions of your review, use the appropriate level of headings to divide the remainder of the paper into the following sections:

1.Summary: In at least one page, summarize the article's main points. Explain the article's most important information, concepts, and facts.

2.Reflection: Provide well-thought-through ideas of the importance of the article to science education.

a. Discuss how the article's content can be applied to teaching science.

b.View the ten Alternative Assessment Formats presented in Chapter 4 of the course text and select any five. Detail and provide examples of how you would use each of the five formats you selected in a lesson either on physical science, chemical science, genetics, or life science.

All elements of your paper must adhere to current APA formatting guidelines.
