Work effectively in the digital media industry - Case Study/Scenario #1

Scenario
In small teams (3-4 people) you must choose a digital/multimedia business as your case study (it could be a real one or a made up one) and complete the required tasks

The tasks are to be presented as a wikispaces (or equivalent) site.
You may choose your own teams but the best options for team choice is the type of the business rather than who is in it

1 Write a short overview of your business case study Include the following detail about it
• Industry
• If there are any local similar businesses

2: Create a glossary page for your wiki and add any new terms and definitions to it through out this project

3: List 10 job roles within the business including short descriptions of the job roles (remember you
need to work effectively as a team so you may need to designate roles within the team such as editor of the group wiki pages)

4: Individually research in detail 2 of the job roles and answer the following questions about them
• What is the job title?
• Provide a detailed description of the job role?
• What opportunities are there for employment in this role in the local area?
• Who might you work for? What employer, industry goup or IT sector° What does this job pay?
• What qualifications are required, if any?
• What is a possible pathway to actually getting such a job?
• What is it about your choice that appeals to you?

• Include any relevant and interesting images/slideshows/videos (at least 1 images, 1 slideshows, 1 videos from sites such as youtube and slideshare net)

Part 2

1. Add a page to your wiki which states the features and cost of a suitable camera for your case study business. (do not do a straight copy and paste!!!) Include reasons why it is a suitable camera for your case study.

2. You are to describe each of the features of these cameras in plain English and also describe the advantages/disadvantages of each feature.

3. Also include at least 3 optimised images of your team (eg your image should be no larger than 400 pixels and wide and less than 80kb in size)

4. Use the go pro camera's to take some video footage and upload it to your wiki so I can download it. eg just make a link to it. (you could embed the video if you want but I also want
to be able to download it)

Use the Go Pro manuals to work out how to use them.

• Review the pages YOU created for your "job roles details" pages. MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU CREATED THE PAGE.
• At the bottom of each of your page leave at least 4 formatting improvement suggestions
(these suggestions will be implemented by someone else in your group. The suggestions could be to bold a particular heading. add an image, add spacing or colour to particular lines or sections of text or add an image or video etc.
