If human beings are the only creatures of moral value, then we do not do anything morally wrong if we deplete a specific resource, cause a species to go extinct, or destroy the habitat of living creatures. We might still do moral wrong in our treatment of the environment if our actions cause harm to human beings, but we have no moral responsibility to anything other than humans on this view.

Using this approach to environmental ethics, explain how we would view the problem of endangered species from this perspective. You may also evaluate the approach, but the main point is to demonstrate that you can apply this specific approach to an environmental issue.
