Problem: In your high school math class, you have made an effort to help students become better thinkers. In many lessons this year you have helped students to develop their higher-level thinking skills. You have decided that, in an effort to engage and connect with even more students, you want to include current events in your curriculum as you review for end-of-year testing. You have decided the best way to do this is with project-based learning. In project-based learning, students generate problems to be examined (sometimes cooperatively with the teacher). You want to set up small groups to work cooperatively to create and solve current events-based problems that include using their math skills.
