Question: This class is heavily focused on social work interventions and the evaluation of these interventions. Use this post to describe an intervention you observed in your internship where accompaniment played an important role. How will this influence how you engage with people at your internship this semester?

(below is my own answer but just need to rewrite it and use different words because some parts are from text book and needs to be summarized and paraphrased)

Chapter 8 talks about the interwoven processes of action and accompaniment. Action entails the diverse activities of planning, supporting, decision-making, mobilizing resources, motivating participants, challenging barriers, and following through in creating change.We emphasize accompaniment as part of the change process as a reminder that social work is a collaborative endeavor. In my practice at my internship as I work with students I constantly help them navigate the campus resources and build connections with their professors and their advisors. I feel like as a peer mentor I can play an important role in their college experience by letting them know that they're not alone in this and they can get the most out of their college experience by reaching out to their advisors and utilizing all the campus resources that are available to them.

As a peer mentor in my internship, I worked with other peer mentors as a team and we present workshops for students about different topics such as student involvement, self-care, and campus resources we try to teach students how they can engage on campus and grow more personally and academically.
