Suppose there is a cube made of copper. Initially, it has a net charge of zero. I then place exactly eight additional electrons somewhere on the surface of the cube. Since like charges repel, the electrons will not stay together in one spot on (or in) the cube. How will the electrons arrange themselves? Why will they arrange themselves in that manner?
