As with experiments, counselling will inevitably be affected by some form or level of bias because as humans we cannot be completely immune to bias 100% of the time (Goodwin & Goodwin, 2017). We can do our best to put controls in place to lessen the affects that our biases have on research and counselling scenarios though. Do you think education/training in culturally responsive and socially just practices will be enough to control for cultural bias in counsellors and researchers?

Part 2:1

With this high report of trauma within society, how do we alleviate or moderate the risk of further distress within research? How can we navigate the potential risks - reward ratio knowing that there is such a high prevalence of trauma within a potential sample population?

Finally, taken into account the importance of replication, how can researchers navigate the balance between replicating already established studies for robustness while exploring new avenue to address emerging questions or issues in the field, especially in in rapidly evolving scientific landscapes?

considering the ethical obligations to social interest which you have mentioned referencing the code of Ethics of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, how will research make sure that their research will not only promote literal context but also enhance, benefit and inform the intervention process in order to address those issues faced by people struggling in our society today?
