Students will create a survey instrument to gauge the target audience of their invention's intended use.

The survey instrument will be created and administered with Google sheets from a pc/laptop or mobile device (smartphone/tablet) and composed of at least 10 questions.

Administer at least 20 surveys to obtain your results. Make sure at least 10 of those surveys are conducted face to face using Google Sheets/Survey in conjunction with your smartphone.

The survey will be administered to sample group of the target audience and the descriptive statistics will be presented in a summary within the Results section. A Methodology section discussing how you conducted the survey shall precede your Results section.

For outside class guidance, please refer to the INSTRUCTOR'S THESIS posted in Blackboard:

• Chapter 4: Methodology (page 43-50)

• Chapter 5: Results and Analysis (pages 51-81)

• Conclusion and Discussion (page 82-87)

• Appendixes, (pages 94-115)

Use these items/sections as templates for your APA formatting and talking points within your own Introduction, Methodology, Results and Analysis, and Conclusion sections, as well as the Appendixes.

The write up must include a cover page, introduction, Methods section, Results and Analysis section, Conclusion and Discussion section, and appendixes.

Answer the following questions within the body of your document being as specific as possible:

oWhat program/instrument did you use to conduct the survey and analyze the results? Questionnaires

o When and how did you approach the participants for the survey? i approached in the afternoon in Downtown San Diego

o How did you make the survey atmosphere as comfortable as possible? i start first with a small conversation to see how are they, then ask them if they wanted to answer my question for a project.

oHow did you protect the participants anonymity and the survey results? i never ask them about their names.

oHow were biases avoided (be specific...review types of biases)? Some of them weren't sober and wouldn't answer my questions right. I avoided some by how they appear but most of them were cooperative

o Which biases were unavoidable during your survey process (be specific)?

oWhat were the main obstacles while conducting your survey?Approaching them. And searching for someone who would agree to take the survey

oHow could this survey instrument, its administration and the analysis be improved if the ideal situation presented itself?

Note: It's always good to present the charts and tables within the body of the document while you are talking about specific descriptive statistics. You will have charts and graphs created from the results automatically by Google Sheets as you administer your surveys.

SEPARATE CONCLUSION

APPENDIX including Survey/research introduction (given to participants before survey) survey instrument (questions), data table (raw results from the survey), and interview instrument (if you did extra credit)

The Survey Assignment: Methodology & Results write up must be/have:

• A COVER PAGE entitled "Methods and Results" and including required elements

• In a written document using APA FORMATTING standards, NOT question/answer or bullet points (refer to my thesis for correct formatting and writing/discussion style)

• An INTRODUCTION

• A BODY WITH CLEAR SECTION AND SUBSECTION HEADINGS

• A CONCLUSION

• At least FOUR FULL WRITTEN PAGES in length EXCLUDING your cover and resulting charts/graphs and appendix items.

• Your survey instruments (personal introduction & questions) and (data table) results attached within an APPENDIX included at the end of the document. (3 total appendix items)
