Instructions: Poster and Verbal Presentation

The second assessment involves designing a poster that you will present verbally.

First, you will select a topic that falls within the scope of this course. Your topic may cover one or several aspects (this is not an exhaustive list):

A literature review of a concept
A vulnerable or resilient group or community
A critical issue relevant to management
A disaster case study/example of increasing disaster risk
A country or region-focused case study
A method or tool for reducing risk
A critical review of the relationship between disasters and development

Once you choose a topic, you will develop a poster to convey your message. Posters must provide a critical analysis of the topic, not just a mere description. The poster and its verbal presentation shall address the LOs listed below.

Tutorials will be provided during the semester on how to create a poster and present it verbally. You will have the opportunity to discuss your poster topic with the course coordinator.

The poster shall be uploaded on Canvas and then presented verbally, either online or in-person. The verbal presentation will last up to 10 minutes, followed by up to 5 minutes for Q&A.
