3. Derek's mother fed him in a warm and loving manner during the first year. But when he became a toddler, she kept him in a playpen for many hours because he got into too much mischief while exploring freely. Use Erikson's theory to evaluate Derek's early experiences.

4. Juanita is 20 months old. While playing in the bathtub, she plays with her water toys, especially her rubber ducky. She floats it , and then tries to sink it. She floats it upside down. She bounces it off the tile wall behind the wall, so it comes back to her in the tub. She then picks up the rubber ducky and sucks on it. Then she picks it up, holds it to her ear, and says "hi mommy, hi mommy!" She then drops in small pieces of soap and says "I'm feeding the duckies." Choose at least two developmental theories and apply them to this situation. Use concepts of the theory to explain the child's behavior.

5. At the age of 2 years, Ming Yang and her parents moved from Hong Kong to rural Arkansas. Ming Yang attended public school and her family were members of a local church. Ming Yang was bilingual and often translated for her parents who only spoke one language. She is a competitive equestrian, works on a local farm and her favorite food is biscuits and gravy. If we were using Vygotsky's socio-cultural theory how would we explain Ming Yang's development?
