Cybersecurity Principles and Organisational Practice
Assessment - Written Report and Oral Presentation
Learning Outcome 1: Investigate effective cybersecurity solutions that protect human and business assets with security assurance.
Learning Outcome 2: Evaluate agile cybersecurity solutions that support human activities and interactions in a business environment.
Learning Outcome 3: Communicate a cybersecurity strategy and operational plan to guide relevant stake holders, including end users and key decision makers, for ethical and secure operations.
Assessment Task
Working in your groups from Assessment 2, write a 1,200- word (+/-10%) report on cybersecurity governance and operational plans supported by a seven to nine (7-9)-minute presentation that outlines how to plan, manage and reinforce the cybersecurity policies and strategies with appropriate operational plans. Boost your grades with expert-level assignment help today.
Please refer to the Instructions section (below) for details on how to complete this task.
Context
For the purposes of this assessment, your group will extend your work from Assessment 2 to propose cybersecurity governance strategies and operational plans to support the company in their case study.
Your aim is to ensure that the company is resilient and has reduced cybersecurity attack surfaces (including human-user attack vectors). Unless advised otherwise, you may continue using the same case example that you selected for Assessment 2.
Your report should be addressed to the organisation's stakeholders who must approve the operational plans (to be implemented) to meet the cybersecurity governance requirements imposed by the Australian or International governing bodies.
In this assessment, you will work co-operatively in groups on both written and verbal tasks, which will provide you with practical experience in solutions-based teamwork and the presentation of both written and verbal findings, both of which are essential skills in information technology workplaces.
Instructions
To complete this assessment, you are required to write a 1,200-word (+/-10%) report that discusses human-centric cybersecurity planning. Your report should be supported by a seven to nine (7-9)- minute presentation that provides a user-focused cybersecurity awareness training session as described in your report.
In completing this assessment, you should:
Review all the learning resources for Modules 1-11 before writing the report.
Ensure that your report contains information about the topics listed below and is aimed at people with limited technical knowledge.
Ensure that your report is supported by appropriate diagrams that help the reader to visualise the need for cybersecurity and the correlation between successful cyber-attacks and humans and the reduction of successful attacks.
Report
Your report must:
Explore at least four areas that need to be addressed when implementing an effective cybersecurity awareness training program and detail exactly how these areas will be implemented (provide industry case examples where appropriate).
Propose a cybersecurity incident response procedure in line with the appropriate Australian or international cybersecurity industry standards.
Propose a digital backup and redundancy plan as part of the incident response strategies that adopts the appropriate industry standards.
Discuss how the intelligent and adaptive firewall or intrusion detection systems should be placed to learn the human-user behaviours. These systems should provide some convenience to the users while maintaining high security standards.
Discuss how remote workers will be protected against advanced threats (e.g., session hijacking, man in the middle attacks or spoofing) in the organisation.
Discuss how internal attacks may be averted in your organisation.
Presentation
Additionally, your group is asked to support your report with a seven to nine (7-9)-minute presentation. As with the report, assume that your audience has limited technical knowledge.
The audience for your presentation will consist of the group of stakeholders identified in your report. In your presentation, your group will provide an awareness training session as described in your report to the stakeholders and the board. The awareness training session should be delivered via the support of seven to ten (7-10) PowerPoint slides, including a slide containing your references.
